Description

from Blue Man Group Chicago
Blue Man Group, one of Chicago's longest-running shows, is a unique audiovisual experience—vibrant, colorful, and hilarious. Family-friendly and fabulously blue, this critically acclaimed show features innovative music and technology combined with good-humored social commentary.

Find your seat after you’ve admired the black-light artwork and intimate setting of the Briar Street Theatre, and prepare for the rise of the curtain. Fueled by our culture's technological advances, this recently revamped show incorporates the ‘GiPad,’ a giant tablet that communicates with the silent trio.

Three bald, blue men lead you through a captivating multimedia journey filled with euphoric drumming, neon lighting, and paint splattering. Gladly follow them from the funny and intelligent, to the riveting and thought provoking. Equal parts innovative musical performance, and introspective peeks into our fast-paced philosophies, Blue Man Group celebrates culture, comedy, and, of course, the color blue.

Parking
Limited Parking is available for $15.00 in our lot. We recommend that the patron arrive at least one half hour before curtain to ensure a spot.

Children Rules
Children under 3 are not permitted in the theatre. All children must have a ticket. All children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Blue Man Group has moments when it reaches noise levels of a rock concert. It is strongly encouraged that you use ear plugs on your child. Ear plugs can be provided to you at the theatre by our front of house staff. Strobes and water based haze are used in the show. Out of respect for other patrons unruly children may be asked to leave the theatre and will only be admitted back into the theatre at the Front of House Manager’s discretion.

Max Quantity of tickets purchased per transaction is 9. Please contact the theatre directly for any groups larger than 9.

Miscellaneous
WARNING! A STROBE LIGHT IS USED DURING THE PERFORMANCE AND MAY BE CONSIDERED HAZARDOUS TO CERTAIN PATRONS.

My wife and I came here and really enjoyed the show! They were pretty entertaining and funny. Tickets were pretty reasonable but the crowd was kind of small. There were a lot of empty seats. They had a really fun activity for the crowd and we LOVED IT. I don't want to spoil the show, but it was awesome! Give it a shot if the price is right for you!

I guess my expectations were too high. I read the reviews and wanted to enjoy this show. The first 10-15 minutes were very entertaining, but it became very predictable and boring after that. My daughter and I sat front row and that was too close. We could see some "behind the scenes" things that ruined the special effects. I would recommend this show for families with children. They would be very entertained.

We took our three teenagers to see the show during a recent weekend in Chicago. None us of had been to see The Blue Man Group before so we weren't sure what to expect. We all loved it. The show was fun, funny, interactive and surprising. All the seats in the theatre have decent views. Sit in the front "poncho" section if you dare - sometimes it can get messy. DON'T arrive late. The format really appealed to my teenagers - they laughed and were engaged throughout the entire show. At the end, I looked around the theatre and it was so nice to see the audience having a blast. Bring your sense of humour, expect the unexpected and go see the show.

We went to the 2pm show on Saturday. It was easy to find parking but did not expect it to be so pricey! The theater is smaller but that was ok. It is decorated really well and the lobby was fun to wait in. There is a drink bar in case you are thirsty while you wait. We sat in the third row (poncho seats). The show was visually exciting. The music was fun and LOUD. Audience participation at its finest. One of my sons was given a painting done by one of the "men" and all 3 of them "signed" it after the show. Now for the negatives. If you do not like loud to the point of teeth rattling, do not go. If you have small children that frighten easily from loud noises, do not go. The poncho seats were not worth the neck pain from looking straight up to see the show. We were front and center and walked away perfectly clean. The audience play and the interaction were great but you could easily tell that people were planted in the audience. My group consisted of myself, my husband and "kids" aged 18, 20, 21 and 23. Upon leaving, everyone asked "was that it?". From all I heard about these shows, we expected so much more mess, more silliness, more music and more...MORE. It almost seemed like it was a matinee show for kids. I personally would not pay that much to see this show if I had known it would be so lacking.

"Good eclectic entertainment"

I figured before the show that I'd give it three stars, but I went for four. This show is kinda weird and eclectic, but it is entertainment and it's interesting. For those that have never been to a Blue Man group show, I would highly recommend it. But it will be unlike any show you have ever been to. Very non-standard entertainment, but I left happy and was not disappointed.
