The location is perfect location to easy get to the L, the buses and river. You can easy get around anywhere without any issues since you are on Michigan Avenue. The staff was amazing...very helpful and went out of there way to make you happy. You just felt comfortable that after walking around all day it was nice to come back and relax. I would surely stay there again. I love the fact they let check in early...11:35AM.

The hotel is located in an strategic area, just 2 blocks away from the millenium park and the miracle mile, the service seems kind of cheap, the front desk people where not very polite and kind of rude. Overall the hotel was fine, but it didnt felt hard rock style, for my point of view it was a Holiday Inn with a rolling stones magazine and one nice flashy pillow.

Your just paying for the view and brand name. Not worth the money.. i work the desk at a hotel ... n this one is way to expensive for what you get. Felt like a complete waste of money.the view was great from the studio suite but thats all that was great

"Awesome hotel in my favorite downtown Chicago building"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

This hotel was awesome. In the historic Carbide & Carbon building, the lobby still has the old-fashioned Art Deco feel, but well-maintained and clean. The rooms are awesome, so unique. I had a quote from Prince on the mirror and a portrait of Snoop Dogg on the wall. The view was spectacular, and I didn't even get a very high floor. Housekeeping staff was so friendly and helpful (shout out to Josephine). The furniture in the rooms was pretty nice. I'd say 9/10. The only drawback is that the shower in the bathroom is one of those "doorless" showers. I can't stand those. No matter how you angle the shower head, water goes all over the bathroom floor. That was annoying, but the only drawback to my stay here. I would definitely recommend and I would stay again!

It's a nice hotel for the first time visitor in the downtown area. They also have a flexible check in/check out policy. We got there around noon (from the airport) and they allowed us to check into our rooms then. My friends who also got a room there, did not get penalized with additional fees when they submitted their keys after check out time. Friendly staff but rooms need a bit of TLC. 3.5 star type hotel
