"Lollapalooza craziness"

The hotel is very close to the concert event and therefore was wild and crazy - this was fun for us and for our kids. However, there were NO roll away beds, NO extra pillows or blankets: perhaps we should have called ahead, knowing we had the need for it, but I never thought a hotel would run out. The room itself was ok - it needed some TLC: doors didn't shut properly, the closet didn't close all the way, the thermostat would get stuck and stop working, the curtains were falling off the rods, the windows were off their rails.

"1st Hard Rock Hotel Experience "Disapointed""
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

Not the Hard Rock Experience I was expected. This was the first time we have stayed at a Hard Rock Hotel, as we were excited to book it in the "Windy City". What a disappointment, I have stayed at better 2 and 3 stars hotels in no-name cities that were better than this. Mold in the bathroom, scuff on the wall, chip tiling on floor, is this the ultimate rock experience...yes maybe after a "trash your room" after a Black Sabbath or Motely Crew concert...but those days have come and gone. Was expecting a lot more from the Hard Rock franchise. If it was for the location, and a non-refundable payment, we would have found a different Hotel to enjoy the Wonderful City of Chicago. Let's hope that one bad apple doesn't spoil them all.

"Fun weekend away"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

I stayed here as part of a bachelorette weekend trip. The lobby is modern and attractive, and check in went smoothly. We arrived early, but did not have to wait too long before a room for us was ready. One of the rooms I was in, seems very dated. Thankfully, our room was very nice and modern - not sure what the difference was? The internet worked well, room service was attentive. One morning we needed room service breakfast, and it was prompt and good. Overall a good stay!

"Disappointing "

Staff were present and that’s about it. The bar and restaurant are dead and disappointing. Rooms may have been 4 star a few years ago, but they need updating. The bathroom had mold on the shower as some photos depict, and the rooms themselves aren’t any better than some of the 3 star hotels. I’ve seen comments that this hotel is closing. It’s obvious why, and at this point they are just trying to squeeze the last few dollars out. This hotel doesn’t meet the Hard Rock standard and should be avoided unless you’re just looking for a cheap 3 star option while they fade away.

"Perfect Location"

The Hard Rock Hotel was the perfect location to all the sights, shops and restaurants in Chicago. Walking distance to just about everything. The rooms were very nice. The price was reasonable. Staff was always friendly. Would definitely stay here again, however I heard they are closing in December. So I'm very sad about that.
